The City of Tustin has negotiated the sale of 87 acres at the Tustin Legacy project to Vestar/Kimco Tustin, a California Limited Partnership for development of a 1 million square foot retail project identified as , "The District at Tustin Legacy".

Tustin Officials Celebrate Beginning of 'Tustin Legacy'
TUSTIN, Calif.- Today, Tustin Mayor Tracy Wills Worley and city officials will join John Laing Homes representatives including CEO Larry Webb in a groundbreaking ceremony for Tustin Field. The 376-home, 30-acre development is the first component of Tustin Legacy, the historic reuse of the Tustin Marine Corps Air Station.

First Residential Site at Tustin Legacy Underway
On April 18, 2003, the City of Tustin conveyed to John Laing Homes, a 25.3 acre parcel that will be the first residential site to be developed at Tustin Legacy. The development site will also include a 6.3 acre parcel currently owned by The Irvine Company.

The City of Tustin and Centex Homes/Shea Partnership Ink Deal – Tustin Legacy
On April 3, 2006, the Tustin City Council unanimously approved a Disposition and Development Agreement with Tustin Legacy Community Partners (TLCP), LLC. for the development of approximately 822 acres at the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station, now know as Tustin Legacy, a master planned community.
